Outdoor Learning at Spurcroft
Our intent for Outdoor Learning
At Spurcroft Primary School we aspire for the children in our care to be confident learners outdoors and have self-belief in their skills and ability to reach their goals. During outdoor learning, we strive to give opportunities for them to work independently as well as learn the importance of teamwork and collaboration with others. We recognise the importance of mental health and emotional wellbeing as well as physical health to our pupils and staff, including being outdoors both during lesson time where learning takes place beyond the classroom as well as during break and lunchtime.
Pupils in Early Years spend half a day a week learning in our outdoor environment.
Pupils in Yeas 1-6 have specific lessons outside when appropriate to their learning.
