Music at Spurcroft

Our intent for Music

At Spurcroft school, we aim to equip our children with skills for 21st century, both academic and creative. We want the knowledge and skills that they learn in Music lessons to stay with each child for their whole life.

Through composing and performing, confident learners are developed. Through listening to a wide range of music and developing their own viewpoints and opinions, we give pupils a wide musical knowledge. Music promotes teamwork and responsibility towards each other. High expectations in music ensure that all children are taught the skills of reading music and given the opportunities to use musical instruments creatively.
