2021 AGM

The Annual General Meeting of the Friends of Spurcroft (also known as the PTA) was held on Friday 15th October at 7:00pm in Mapledurham Hall.

The AGM is a formal requirement that we (as a registered charity) must carry out each year, the purpose of the meeting is to update our community (that’s you) on our current financial situation, what we have spent money on over the past 12months, and how we plan to move forward for the new school year.

You are welcome to read the minutes below.

This year we are proposing to adopt the latest version of the ParentKind recommended constitution (rules that we must abide by) and also to bring all of our various charity/account listings in line so that our charity registered name matches with our bank account and insurance policies.  The principle change is that we would become a PTFA ( Parent, Teacher & Friends Association, our main operating model will essentially remain the same.

Ways you can help:

  • Attend the next meeting to share your ideas for activities
  • Sign up to our online shopping schemes: Easyfundraising & AmazonSmile.
  • Ask your employer if they offer match funding – next time we have an event they can support us to help raise our totals.
  • Attend an event or enter a competition – every ticket, drink, burger, or ice-cream sold helps us to raise money to spend on the school and its students, plus you get to have fun!
  • Follow us on social media, like, comment and share our posts. By being engaged in our social media pages helps us to stay listed and expand our visibility.
  • Donate outgrown uniform – our nearly new uniform shop helps us to raise approx. £300 per year, but more importantly it is a much used and needed resource – especially those jumpers, we can’t keep our supplies filled.
