
Spurcroft Primary School Charter
During their time at Spurcroft, all pupils will have the opportunity to:
- Develop their responsibility, self-belief, creative thinking and teamwork, showing ambition and kindness, in line with our school values
- Achieve the best they can, leaving Spurcroft ready for the next stage in their learning
- Develop understanding of what it means to ‘know more and remember more’
- Learn how to keep themselves safe, including while online
- Take part in performances to audiences
- Learn to recycle and reduce waste
- Regularly visit places of interest, and learn by having visitors into school to share their experiences
- Participate in at least five different sports in lessons, and represent the school at a sporting event
- Represent the school at a community event
- Learn about Thatcham and the local area
- Take part in fundraising activities
- Learn to play an instrument
- Learn basic first aid and basic road safety
- Grow, tend and nurture a plant
- Cook a dish/healthy snack
- Explore British Values and human rights
- Learn tolerance of others and explore themes around being kind
- Take part in a residential visit
- Learn to ride their bike safely
- Take part in national days and events
- Learn about current events, and what is happening in the wider world
- Learn to swim in Year 4, if they can’t swim yet
- Learn in partnership with family members
- Learn with others from across the school
- Take on a leadership role in Year 6, and make a valuable contribution to the school community.
