Spurcroft Primary School Charter

 

During their time at Spurcroft, all pupils will have the opportunity to:

 

  • Develop their responsibility, self-belief, creative thinking and teamwork, showing ambition and kindness, in line with our school values
  • Achieve the best they can, leaving Spurcroft ready for the next stage in their learning
  • Develop understanding of what it means to ‘know more and remember more’
  • Learn how to keep themselves safe, including while online
  • Take part in performances to audiences
  • Learn to recycle and reduce waste
  • Regularly visit places of interest, and learn by having visitors into school to share their experiences
  • Participate in at least five different sports in lessons, and represent the school at a sporting event
  • Represent the school at a community event
  • Learn about Thatcham and the local area
  • Take part in fundraising activities
  • Learn to play an instrument
  • Learn basic first aid and basic road safety
  • Grow, tend and nurture a plant
  • Cook a dish/healthy snack
  • Explore British Values and human rights
  • Learn tolerance of others and explore themes around being kind
  • Take part in a residential visit
  • Learn to ride their bike safely
  • Take part in national days and events
  • Learn about current events, and what is happening in the wider world
  • Learn to swim in Year 4, if they can’t swim yet
  • Learn in partnership with family members
  • Learn with others from across the school
  • Take on a leadership role in Year 6, and make a valuable contribution to the school community.
