Spurcroft Primary School and Nursery

The future begins here...

Year 3

Our school theme for the next week will be based around ‘Moving on.' All year groups will have English and Topic tasks based around this theme. To enable more siblings to work together, EYFS and KS1 English and Topic tasks will be the same, as will LKS2 and UKS2’s tasks. However, each Year group planner will still have year group based maths tasks to enable the maths learning to continue. Those families who have children across KS1 and KS2, please feel free to go with what your family would like and choose one planner’s English and Topic activities to focus on if your children want to work together! The teachers are, as always, looking forward to seeing the work that is sent through to them so please do continue to do this!

If you have any questions relating to the learning, please use the Year 3 email address below to contact the Year 3 teachers directly. Where possible, the answers will be put on the website for you to mark the majority of the work at home. If you would like some feedback on a piece of writing, please photograph or scan this and send it to the year group email address.

The RSPB Schools’ Wild Challenge is a free award scheme that encourages pupils to be adventurous and enjoy the benefits of outdoor learning – from developing practical skills, to reducing stress and enhancing mental wellbeing. Activities can be adapted to suit different needs and completed in a school playground, garden or even during a walk in the park!

Optional Road Safety lessons

We have been sent the following link from a theatre production company called "Safer steps." It is an online story with different interactive activities designed to teach children how to be safe near roads. If you would like your child to complete the activities, please use the following link and passwords:

Username: Westberkshire

Password: Saf3rst3ps201920

Optional Music activity. Are you ready to Mambo?

This is a very exciting piece of music. Join Pixie Lott as she explores Bernstein's Mambo from West Side Story.  Can you create your own Mambo?  Mrs Stagg would love to see it. Send it to your year group email.

Have fun!

Optional French activity

Miss Townsend would like some super pictures showing something that you have learned in French to put on to our school website.

You could draw and decorate a number and write the number in French, you could colour a rainbow and list all the colours in French, take a photo of an item of food and label it in French or make a picture showing anything else that you have learnt in French at school.

Please send your photos to your year group email.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing your photos!
